The app that was originally made for short 15 second videos has bloomed into an advertising gem for companies. Not only is it heavily used amongst young teens, but there has been massive growth in adult usage as well. The effects of COVID-19 on the advertising and marketing world are also a big reason companies display their products over this growing phenomenon.
A big perk about Tik Tok is that it is engaging. Companies who use this app are straying away from their typical advertisements you’d see on TV and making promotions more intriguing for audiences. For example, having the top “Tik Tokers” in the world make content with certain products instead of having them sell it in a pitch format. Another big thing is hashtags. Like every other social media platform, hashtags are a big part of every content post. This helps the company gain exposure through a simple slogan within a hashtag. This trendy form of advertising will not only benefit companies but will change the way consumers see the advertising world forever.
