Get to Know 72andSunny

When students think about advertising agencies, usually the first ones that come to mind are the larger agencies that are often used as examples in class, such as Leo Burnett or DDB. However, there are a lot of smaller or mid-sized agencies that create amazing work and have unique agency cultures, such as 72andSunny.

72andSunny is a full service advertising agency founded in 2004 with offices in Amsterdam, Singapore, Los Angeles, New York City, and Sydney. Their clients include Axe, Facebook, Adidas, Samsung, Adobe, Coca-Cola, Google and many more. The company was named “Agency of the Year” in both 2013 and 2014.

The agency’s culture is defined by “a spirit of collaboration” and “unignorable creativity.” They value creativity, diversity, collaboration, and growth. They believe that everyone’s voice matters and that everyone should be a constant learner. The agency brings in guest speakers and offers workshops for employees to continually improve their skills. The offices are known to be pet-friendly— 72andSunny believes that “having dogs in the workspace lowers stress and encourages optimism.” All of their offices have a tradition of eating a “family meal” once a week, where everyone sits and enjoys the meal together.

In addition to offering traditional advertising positions, 72andSunny has a 12-week creative residency program called 72U that explores the intersection of art, technology and culture. This program allows participants to gain experience while being immersed in a professional and growth-oriented environment. The focus of the program is redesigned based on current events as well as the skillsets of the session’s participants.
