Roles & Responsibilities

  • Gather all resources needed to produce the commercial

  • Send bids out to production companies

  • Negotiate contracts with production companies who shoot the commercial and music artists

  • Write the production notes, which has all the information needed to produce the spot, such as the titles of everyone, the schedule, logistical arrangements, etc. 

  • Oversee post-production, including editing, special effects, and music selection 

  • Make sure everything is on time and on budget

  • Go-to person on set → the only person on the agency/client side allowed to directly approach the director on set

What is a Producer?

Producers bring together all the different resources needed to bring the creative ideas to life, overseeing all aspects of producing internet or television commercials. As the liaison between the client, agency, and production company, a producer must be detail-oriented, communicate well, and have time-management skills.
